Section 1

You will hear a conversation between a co-working space manager and a person interested in renting a desk. Answer Questions 1–8.
Manager: Good morning, and welcome to BrightHub Co-working. I'm Daniel, the site manager. Are you the one who booked a tour?
Visitor: Yes, that's me. My name's Rachel. I'm a freelance graphic designer looking for a quiet place to work.
Manager: Perfect. Let me show you around. We're spread across two floors. The ground floor is mainly the open-plan area with hot desks, and the first floor has the private offices and meeting rooms.
Visitor: Sounds great. How much is a hot desk?
Manager: A hot desk is forty pounds per week, and that includes unlimited coffee and tea. If you want a fixed desk that's always yours, that's eighty-five pounds per week.
Visitor: I think a fixed desk would suit me better. Do you have any available?
Manager: Yes, we currently have three fixed desks free, all near the windows. They get a lot of natural light, which designers usually love.
Visitor: That's ideal. What about the opening hours?
Manager: The main reception is staffed from eight in the morning until seven in the evening, Monday to Friday. However, members with a key card can access the building twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Visitor: Brilliant, I sometimes work late. Is there a meeting room I can use for client calls?
Manager: We have four meeting rooms. The smallest seats two people, and the largest holds twelve. Members get five hours of meeting room use included each month, and after that it's ten pounds an hour.
Visitor: Good to know. And is there anywhere to get food?
Manager: There's a small kitchen on each floor with a microwave and fridge. There's also a café next door called The Daily Grind, and members get a fifteen percent discount there.
Visitor: That's a nice perk. What do I need to bring to sign up?
Manager: Just a form of photo identification, like a passport or driving licence, and a bank card to set up the monthly payment. We also ask for one month's deposit, which is refundable.
Visitor: Okay. Is there parking?
Manager: Unfortunately we don't have a car park, but the train station is only a five-minute walk away, and there's a secure bike storage area in the basement.
Visitor: I cycle, so that's perfect. When could I start?
Manager: If you sign up today, you could move in on Monday. I'll just need to set up your key card, which takes about an hour.
Visitor: Wonderful. I'll take the fixed desk near the window then.
Manager: Excellent choice, Rachel. Let me take you to my office to fill in the paperwork.
