Section 1

You will hear a conversation between a customer and a member of staff at a local farm shop about a new home delivery service. Answer Questions 1–8.
Staff: Good morning, Greenfield Farm Shop, this is Daniel speaking. How can I help you?
Customer: Hi, I heard you've started a home delivery service and I'd like to sign up.
Staff: That's right, we launched it last month. I can set up an account for you now. Can I take your name?
Customer: Yes, it's Helen Marsh. That's M-A-R-S-H.
Staff: Thank you, Helen. And what's the delivery address?
Customer: It's 14 Oakwood Lane, in the village of Pemberton.
Staff: Lovely, we already cover Pemberton. Now, our delivery van follows a fixed route each week. On Tuesdays we do the northern villages, and on Thursdays we cover the southern ones, including Pemberton.
Customer: So my delivery would be on a Thursday?
Staff: Exactly. The van usually reaches Oakwood Lane at around two o'clock in the afternoon, but it can vary depending on traffic and how many stops there are.
Customer: That's fine, I work from home. What sorts of things can I order?
Staff: Well, we specialise in fresh vegetables and free-range eggs. We also have a small range of dairy products, mainly cheese and milk. Bread is baked on site every morning too.
Customer: Great. Is there a minimum order?
Staff: Yes, the minimum spend for delivery is twenty pounds. Below that we charge a small fee, but over twenty pounds delivery is completely free.
Customer: Good to know. How do I actually place an order each week?
Staff: The easiest way is through our website, but you can also phone us. Orders need to be in by six o'clock on the Wednesday evening before your Thursday slot.
Customer: I see. And how do I pay?
Staff: We take card payment online, or you can pay the driver by card at the door. We don't handle cash any more.
Customer: Right. One more thing — do you do anything with packaging? I'm trying to cut down on plastic.
Staff: Absolutely. We deliver everything in a reusable box, and the driver collects the empty box from the previous week. We also use paper bags rather than plastic.
Customer: That's perfect. Can I add a note about leaving the box somewhere if I'm out?
Staff: Of course. We'll put a note on your account saying to leave it by the side gate, if that suits.
Customer: Yes, by the side gate is ideal.
Staff: Wonderful. I'll send a confirmation email with your account details shortly. Is there anything else?
Customer: No, that's everything. Thank you so much, Daniel.
Staff: You're welcome, Helen. Welcome to Greenfield Farm Shop deliveries.
